The Joachim Trio's first disc (of both trios by Camille Saint-Saens) was a Gramophone "Editors Choice" in 1993 earning "the strongest recommendation".

The Joachim's subsequent Ravel/Debussy pairing is still compared to the very best - the American Record Guide writing in 2009 compared all available versions of the Ravel Trio and concluded that "a number of us think it the best because of the sustaining power, the intensity, the refined tone colours and atmosphere."

Dvorak's four piano trios followed next. Volume 1 was BBC Music Magazine pick of the month and Classics Today" reviewing volume 2 enthused "the ensemble’s beautifully rounded tone should be the stuff of envy for other trios."
