June to August in brief....

AUGUST

As well as a "Sounds for Silents" film programme, John Lenehan gave performances with the London Soloists Ensemble and duo recitals with Lorraine McAslan and Karine Georgian for the "International Musicians Platform" in Scotland.

Teaching at the "Chetham's International Summer School for Pianists" certainly lived up to it's name - a truly international faculty and students of every age and standard from all corners of the globe converged on Manchester for a memorable week. John Lenehan performed his "Sounds for Silents" programme to a packed audience.

JULY

A recital with Tasmin Little for the Petworth Festival of sonatas by Beethoven, Franck and Howard Ferguson was followed by an appearance on BBC Radio 3's "In Tune."    

Emma Johnson's new disc "Brave New World" was described by American Record Guide as "an uncanny experience. Highly recommended."

A performance of Mozart Concerto in C K. 467 with the Locrian Ensemble at St. Martin in the Fields, London.

JUNE

A visit to Winnipeg for the "International Cello Festival of Canada. Concerts involved the complete Beethoven and Mendelssohn Sonatas and much else. John worked with Yegor Dachkov, Colin Carr, Alexander Rudin, Denise Djokic, Amanda Forsyth and Yuri Hooker.

The London Soloists Ensemble's CD of Vaughan Williams recieved glowing reviews and was CD of the month on Musicweb International and BBC Music Magazine described the performances as "exceptional....a collective and individual display of how to deliver chamber music at world-class level."

Toccata Classics issued a CD of music by Julius Rontgen (a contemporary of Brahms and Grieg) in which John Lenehan was joined by Japanese violinist Atsuko Sahara.

MAY

A performance of Mozart Concerto in A K. 414 with the Locrian Ensemble at St. Martin in the Fields, London.

Recording of a new film score by Hans Zimmer involving four pianos.

Composing and recording new piano music commissioned by Deqoy Music  for film and TV use.
