New Year latest....

10/1/2020

As we enter a new decade my year ahead contains some exciting events to look forward to as well as my last few concerts with Tasmin Little as she retires from performing in the Summer - I'll be sad to see the end of a collaboration that has lasted more than 25 years! We will be playing in the Queen Elizabeth Hall London (also broadcast live on BBC Radio 3), and Stoller Hall, Manchester as well as a clutch of other concerts up and down the country. Following my Mozart concerto recording with the National Symphony Orchestra last year, I will record Beethoven's Emperor in April, again with Rimma Sushanskaya conducting.

Other highlights are a Wigmore Hall concert with members of the Britten Sinfonia in January and a celebration of the "Centre for Young Musicians" at the Barbican Centre in June. I was lucky enough to be one of the first students there in around 1971 and they are celebrating their fiftieth anniversary. They have invited me to play Saint- Saens "Carnival of the Animals" with an ensemble of past and present students.

By March I will have completed my four concert survey of Beethoven Violin and Piano Sonatas for the Luton Music Club - it's been a joy to perform at the Bear Club with four amazing violinists! There are also more silent film concerts through the year with a new programme being devised to celebrate the 1920s in all its glory and a return invitation to play in the Winnipeg Chamber Music Festival in June.
